Privacy Policy

Green Compass is a guide to sustainable places and pop-up initiatives, published by Stichting Le@f. We built it privacy-friendly: no account, no advertising, no tracking profile and no analytics SDKs.
Who is responsible
Stichting Le@f, Ampèrestraat 9, 1976 BE Velsen, the Netherlands (KVK 34140586, VAT NL815590921B01), info@stichtingleaf.nl.
Location
Location access is optional. If you allow it, your position is used on your device to show nearby places. Green Compass does not send your location, search area, bounding box or search term to a server: the published catalogue is downloaded and filtered locally on your device.
What is stored on your device
- favourites and saved places;
- your language choice;
- filters and app settings;
- offline map tiles, only if you download a region yourself.
- This data stays on your device, is not uploaded to us, and disappears when you delete the app or clear your browser storage.
What we do receive
Only what you send us yourself when you suggest a place, report a place, add a pop-up or report a pop-up: the place details, category, address, time, website, note, reason, language and an optional partner code. We do not ask for an account and we do not add a device identifier.
Service providers
- Supabase stores and serves the public catalogue, pop-ups, suggestions and reports on our behalf (processor, EU region).
- OpenStreetMap / Leaflet delivers map tiles in the web version; the tile server receives your IP address and the requested tile coordinates.
- Apple Maps may be used for maps on iOS, Google Maps SDK on Android.
- We do not include advertising, social-tracking or analytics SDKs.
Your rights
You can ask us for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your data, and you can object to processing. E-mail info@stichtingleaf.nl; we answer within 30 days. You may also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
How long we keep data
Contributions are kept only as long as needed to review, publish and handle reports about them, and are then deleted. E-mail is kept as long as needed to answer you.
Changes
We update this policy when the app changes. The version and date at the top always show the current text; meaningful changes are announced in the app.
